"Woodlings are creatures seemingly made of the forest. Not fully animal or spirit, these beings sometimes appear to travelers walking and sleeping in the woods. Folks who have spent nights in the forest claim that hundreds of Woodlings would crowd around their tent, staring unblinking and filling the clearing with soft light and wind until morning came. Every Woodling seen so far is unique. Individuals like the Traveller and the Old Guide have appeared numerous times on many separate accounts. The Wood Mother is an especially common visitor to nearby small villages. This huge creature towers above regular humans, tattooed and covered in knick-knacks. It is swathed in wood plants and adorned with jewelry that villagers have traded for medicinal herbs and potions."
